The end of summer reminds me of returning to school if I’m sad but for happier memories, autumn leaves lead my mind to when I studied for my Popular Music degree at Barnsley College. Alumni include Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner and Matt Helders, Ryan and Gary Jarman from The Cribs, who were on my course, and Trademark’s Stuart Meads.

I learned of Stuart’s success when he appeared as The Guardian’s New Band Of The Day in 2007 and have been a fan of Trademark’s, er, trademark synth pop sound, represented here by ‘Toe The Line’, ever since. Peers would often get us confused, which caused us to be known by some as twins but our friendship was not so strong that we were aware of each other’s Italo disco interests and electro pop ambitions.

Fast forward to 2011 and I am proud to introduce a Trademark remix of ‘Trust’. The combined result of good, honest brains educated in Yorkshire.
